Individual Grant: Home-Start Westminster, Kensington & Chelsea, and Hammersmith & Fulham

Home-Start delivers early-intervention support for young families facing complex social, emotional, and financial challenges, pairing them with trained volunteers to build resilience in the home.

The Situation

We supported young families moving into temporary council accommodation following homelessness and unsafe housing conditions, facing acute financial strain, empty rooms, and minimal storage while raising very young children.

The Impact of our Grant

Funding provided immediate relief grants and essential furniture items, such as beds, cots, wardrobes, and small dining tables, enabling families to establish a stable, safe, and hygienic home environment.

From our Referee Partner

“This support will help alleviate the strain of inadequate living conditions, ensuring children have a safe environment to grow and develop, while helping parents feel more settled and dignified in their home.”

Why this support matters

Early intervention prevents compounding crises. Equipping families with proper domestic items and furniture reduces household stress and gives parents the practical tools needed to nurture their children’s development and mental health recovery.
