Individual Grants: Salvation Army Homes
Salvation Army Homes provides supported housing and vital services for individuals experiencing homelessness, including young people leaving care, survivors of domestic abuse, and those facing mental health challenges. The organisation helps residents build independence, stability, and confidence as they move forward with their lives.
Our Individual Grants will support 8 beneficiaries living in supported accommodation, many of whom are managing low incomes, past trauma, and barriers to education and employment. Funding will contribute towards essential items including household goods and clothing, as well as resources that support learning, employment, and independent living.
The organisation shared about the residents:
“Receiving a grant to purchase a refurbished phone would make a significant difference in her life, enabling her to communicate effectively – especially now, as she is focused on finding a job.”
“When the client moved into the house, she did not bring any household items such as kitchenware and bedding. We were able to provide a few donated items, but she still does not have the basic essentials she needs.”
“Winter clothes and boots would help her keep warm during colder months and give her confidence to socialise outdoors.”
“The client has a very low income, and she cannot afford to purchase a laptop. She is studying and having a laptop will help her complete assignments and stay in touch with her tutors.”
