Pathways to Independence: Partnering with Hestia

Hestia supports adults and children in times of crisis, providing domestic abuse refuges, mental health support, and accommodation services for people experiencing homelessness.

The Situation

We supported individuals residing in temporary accommodation and survivors of domestic violence who require essential items and daily provisions to help them recover, gain independence, and transition into new flats provided by the council.

The Impact of our Grant

Funding covered essential living costs, travel to vital appointments, adequate food and daily provisions, clothing, and foundational household supplies to help individuals settle into secure accommodation.

From our Referee Partner

“NA has been a victim of domestic violence and is in temporary accommodation and would need funds for essential items to help recovery and independence to help move on to a new flat being given by the council.”

Why this support matters

Addressing immediate material needs is critical for individuals transitioning from homelessness or crisis, ensuring they can sustain their new housing placements and rebuild their independence with dignity.
