Small acts, big impact: what do our beneficiaries say?

The struggles many families and individuals across London face today are hard to fully comprehend – the uncertainty of living in temporary accommodation, the pressure of sharing a small space without proper furnishings, or the heartbreak of not being able to provide a warm meal for their children.

As we reflect on these challenges, we hope that our small acts of support can bring meaningful change, and provide comfort and hope to those who need it.

We are proud to share with you some inspiring stories from our grant beneficiaries:

๐Ÿ’™ “R. and her children were evicted and placed in unfurnished temporary accommodation by the local council. The family have been struggling to afford new furniture or clothing as they are completely reliant on benefits. The funding enabled the family to purchase essential furniture items such as chairs and clothing for the mother and her daughters. This also meant they could continue to save money to purchase a bed and a mattress.”

๐Ÿ’™ “I’m really grateful for the opportunity you have given me and for the money. It definitely helped with paying for my phone bills and my A-level resit exam, which costs a lot.”

๐Ÿ’™ “The grant meant that she could afford basic essentials and do shopping for her and her family without stressing about money.”

๐Ÿ’™ “C. used the funding to purchase some much-needed clothing . He is homeless and totally reliant on support from friends and support agencies. The grant meant that C. could replace his shoes, which was important for him staying warm this winter.”

๐Ÿ’™ “The money allowed A. to purchase the furniture that she needed for her temporary accommodation to ensure that her children can sleep comfortably. It also meant that they could purchase a desk and a chair so they can do homework more easily at home.”

๐Ÿ’™ “The grant has helped reduce her rent arrears, easing financial stress and allowing her to manage living costs more effectively.”
