Project Grant: Cooking Champions

Cooking Champions is a food support, education and training charity in North London. After 3 years of providing food support in the area, they just opened the first dedicated community kitchen in Enfield. The majority of people they support are families living in one room, with no access to cooking facilities or the internet.

Our grant will support the provision of a weekly evening meal for families in temporary and emergency accommodation, for 8 weeks.

Cooking Champions shared:

“All meals will be homemade and catering for dietary requirements, including halal, vegetarian, and gluten-free. Parents and their children will be able to take part in cooking lessons that contribute to the main community meal. There will be activities for the children to take part in, which include gardening, crafts, and computer stations for older children to complete their homework.”
