Project Grant: Martha House 💌

Martha House provide accommodation for 8 people experiencing homelessness in London with no or limited access to public funds; community activities for both current and former residents who have moved in to temporary accommodation and champion advocacy and sign-posting to precariously housed single people and families with low income and interim/temporary accommodation in immediate local authority areas.
Our grant award funds a recreational break for the residents of the house during summer 2025.
Martha House shared:
“As migrants, asylum seekers or refugees, our guests are marginalised. Isolation and loneliness due to poverty plague those in temporary and emergency accommodation. Other barriers such as speaking English as a second or third language and the confusion of bureaucratic systems take their toll on people’s wellbeing. London can be a harsh place and, previously, we have seen these short breaks profoundly impacting individuals’ lives. The memory of this as well as the friendships that develop strengthen the community we have built in Haringey.”
