Project Grant: StandOut

StandOut is a charity whose mission is to empower people leaving London prisons to make a positive change, realise their potential, and rebuild their lives. The organisation offers short-term accommodation grants, group courses, coaching, and practical support after release. Through their accommodation grants, StandOut covers up to 3 nights in a hotel or a hostel, while assisting participants in securing long-term housing.

Our grant will allow StandOut to provide safe, short-term accommodation to at least 4 beneficiaries, to prevent immediate homelessness upon their release.

StandOut shared:

“The period immediately following release is a critical time when individuals are most vulnerable. Stable housing is one of the most important factors in preventing further offending, yet a third of people leaving London prisons are released without a place to stay. Through our service, participants gain a safe environment that meets their immediate needs, where they can focus on building long-term stability.”
