Project Grant: Up ‘N Away

Up ‘N Away in Hackney supports children and young people living in emergency or temporary accommodation by providing vital educational and nutritional support. With over 12 years of experience and a dedicated team of 24 volunteers, the organisation runs afterschool programmes designed to meet the needs of disadvantaged young people. Many volunteers are former beneficiaries, giving the project a deep local understanding of the challenges these children face.

Our grant will support a 39-week afterschool homework club for 120 children aged 8-13 from Hackney and Haringey who are living in temporary or emergency accommodation. The programme provides help with homework, addresses learning needs, and offers a hot, nutritious dinner to ensure children can focus and thrive academically. Funding will cover food, rent, and staff costs, combining educational support with healthy meals to tackle both learning and nutritional needs.

Awarded organisation: Up ‘N Away
