Individual Grant: Albany Housing YP 💌

Individual Grant Programme Referee Partner: Albany Housing YP

London borough: Croydon

Grant theme focus: Young person leaving care

Albany Housing YP is a semi-independent housing initiative by Albany Housing Trust, dedicated to supporting young people aged 16 to 25 who have previously been in care. Established in 2022, the programme offers safe, stable, and supportive living environments designed to facilitate the transition from care to independent living.

Our grant has funded cooking equipment for a young woman who has recently left the care system and is currently residing in a semi-independent temporary accommodation.

Albany Housing YP shared:

“J has grown in the care system and has experienced instability, a lack of consistent support, and limited family connections. She is living alone for the first time which she is finding a little overwhelming.”
